  4.   The [P] function allows you to alter the number of lines of text that
  5.   are displayed on your screen before asking if you want "More".
  6.   The "More" prompt only appears when displaying directories, help files,
  7.   ASCII files, and bulletins whose number of text lines exceed the
  8.   number of screen lines specified using the [P] prompt.

  10.   The default number of text lines is 23.  This figure works best with
  11.   CrossTalk, PC-TALK, QMODEM and other software programs that leave the
  12.   entire screen clear except for line 25.  If you are using Hayes' com-
  13.   munications program - SCOM - you may wish to change your number of
  14.   text lines to 22, since SCOM uses two lines at the bottom of their
  15.   screen for messages.  This setting will prevent having data you
  16.   haven't had a chance to read from scrolling off the top of your screen.

  18.   Once you have specified a different number of screen lines, that
  19.   setting will remain in effect permanently.  When you logoff, the number
  20.   you entered in written into your user file so that on future calls
  21.   the number of text lines will be as you have specified previously.
